Our holiday home, Gite la Bignone
The house has been completely renovated and is equipped with every comfort to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
On the ground floor, you will find a cozy living room with a wood-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen/diner (dishwasher, combination microwave, refrigerator, 5-burner gas cooktop), a utility room with a washing machine and dryer, and a toilet.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: one with a double bed (160x200cm) and one with two single beds (90x200cm). The bathroom has a shower, two sinks, and a toilet. Bed linen, bath towels, hand towels, and tea towels are included in the rental. La Bignone has a charming, fully enclosed garden with several seating areas (and, of course, a barbecue).

Location and Activities
Just 1.5 km from the golden beaches of the Cotentin peninsula, you’ll find our comfortable holiday home, La Bignone, on the village square of Bretteville-sur-Ay.
Bretteville-sur-Ay is an ideal base for all kinds of activities. At the beach entrance, you’ll find a children’s playground and the charming beach café, La Paillotte. You’ll be amazed by the tranquility of the beach, even in peak season. From the beach, you can see the Channel Island of Jersey.
Various hiking and cycling routes have been laid out on the peninsula, taking you past the most beautiful spots.
Naturally, you’ll find various sites and museums related to World War II and D-Day (Saint-Mère Église, the American cemetery in Colleville, the bunkers in Azeville), but the Cotentin peninsula has so much more to offer. Mont Saint-Michel is definitely worth a visit, there are several castles to visit in the area, and there’s a lively market nearby almost every day. Don’t forget to visit Cherbourg, and don’t miss the Cité de la Mer marine aquarium.
